Continue diocesan involvement in neighborhood development and affordable housing through:
  • Summit County Housing Trust Fund and other funds
  • Linked deposit programs
  • Housing Networks
  • Landbanking programs
  • LeBlond Housing Corporation efforts with senior adult housing and other opportunities
  • Church-based community organizing in Lorain and Cleveland
Become involved in an existing redevelopment project or start your own.

Cooperate with parishes in providing educational opportunities and support for parish involvement in interparish and interfaith housing and economic development projects such as:
  • Community forums
  • Habitat for Humanity
  • Housing construction and rehabilitation projects such as Project Afford at St. Patrick's/Bridge Ave. in Cleveland.
  • The Telecommunications Workforce Training and Development Initiative developed by the Commission on Catholic Community Action in cooperation with business and labor.
  • Housing rehabilitation in the city of Lorain as part of the development of a transitional housing program sponsored by the Catholic Action Commission of Lorain County
  • Workshops related to increasing home ownership opportunities in the Cleveland Economic Empowerment Zone
Become partners in building a Habitat for Humanity Home

Participate in the Bicentennial Village Project which is part of Cleveland's Bicentennial Celebration

Investigate the formation of a Community Improvement Corporation as part of a resource network within the diocese to support economic development projects. Contact Fr. Bob Begin (216-696-6525x227) for further information or to offer your assistance.
