Access to Education

Education and training are key to securing the future of the semiconductor industry in Europe. In close cooperation with companies and educational institutes, CITC organizes targeted education and training for young talent. By providing a connection between education and industry, we contribute to the training and skills of people who match industry needs.

When it comes to innovation, implementation should not be forgotten; without a practical approach you cannot innovate. Since March 2021, CITC has therefore had the Accredited Work Placement Company qualification. This allows us to train secondary vocational education (mbo) students in professional practice.

At the same time, we support lifelong learning by enabling semiconductor staff to stay up to date with the latest developments in the industry. Together with HAN University of Applied Sciences, we developed the Semiconductor Packaging University Program. The program, which is also a minor for bachelor students, offers its participants training in all relevant aspects of chip packaging, both in theory and in practice.

Enthusing the young

The younger children come into contact with science, technology, engineering and mathematics the greater the chance that they will want to do something with it later in life. We work together with various weekend schools to inspire primary school children and with, among others, Sterk Techniek for secondary school students.

Smart Industry Fieldlab

In March 2020, CITC was awarded the status of Smart Industry Fieldlab. As a field lab, we can act as a hub to connect with industry for various Smart Industry related topics.

This includes organizing specific workshops on the search for possibilities to apply semiconductors in different application domains. SMEs will be the focus. As soon as SMEs are affiliated with research and educational institutes, Smart Industry solutions can be jointly developed, tested and implemented jointly.
