We are CITC – Chip Integration Technology Center – a non-profit, joint innovation center specializing in heterogeneous integration and advanced chip packaging technology. We have created an effective ecosystem in which companies, research and educational institutes work on bridging the gap between academics and industry. Together, we work on a new generation of packages providing smart, safe, and rugged housing for chips.

Our vacancy

We are looking for an optical design engineer with a passion for integrated photonics.

What are you going to work on?

You will work on groundbreaking assembly packaging technology for integrated photonics. Your work is at the intersection of materials science, process technology, front-end technology, back-end technology, and integrated photonics. Your tasks include:

  • Develop and test optical interconnect and assembly designs and processes for a next generation of integrated photonic applications
  • Participate knowledgeably and take responsibility in ongoing collaborative projects with international customers
  • Daily interaction with our industrial partners and customers

What we expect from you

Preferably you have 3 to 7 years of work experience in the integrated photonics industry, in the field of optical design. Your knowledge of optical interconnect technology and optical modelling software such as Zemax, Lumerical or similar is excellent. You have a hands-on mentality and are able to organize practical work in an efficient and collaborative manner.

Furthermore you have…

  • a BSc degree in optical engineering or materials science
  • hands-on knowledge of evaluation and testing of optical interfaces
  • knowledge of data processing, analysis, and communication of results
  • good communication skills in English
